Research and Development
Autostop’s Material Research and Development laboratory is committed to the philosophy of understanding the needs of the customer and offering innovative and sustainable solutions and ideas. The team is continuously looking for ways of product improvement by following strict standards. Coated fabrics like PVC, PU, Alcantara-like, Suede and Silicone leather, are developed and can be additionally boosted with extra properties such as flame retardancy, easy-clean protection, microbial protection and special soft-touch finishes. Additional specifications can be used to prevent grease and oil stains, bluejean colour rubb-off, IR, UV, salt and chlorine, water resistance and many others.
In – House Testing
Autostop’s laboratory is equipped with modern and specified equipment for testing the mechanical, physical, and chemical characteristics of materials such as genuine and artificial leather, carpet, textile and foam. Other equipment is used for testing parts of the car’s interior, such as seat covers, armrests, door panels, etc. The tests are performed according to various international standards such as ISO, ASTM, DIN, BS as well as specific ones like TS, VW, PSG, etc.
Material Application
Autostop offers a wide variety of synthetic leather materials, for any possible application in the Automotive, Transportation, Industrial, Marine, Furniture, Medical and Aviaiton industries. Some of the materials can be used for motorbike seats, horse saddles, bags, clothes, raincoats, and many other products.
PU Foam Production
The production of foam can result in many types of final products with different options in: density, hardness, colour, flammability, foam cell size, etc. These materials can be used for the following industries: automotive (seat covers, door panels, armrests, etc.), furniture, and aviation but the company can also produce technical foams (eg. acoustic insulation, shock insulation, etc.). The procedure of foam production includes: formulation, raw material mixing, slab block moulding, foam cutting to the required thickness, 3D Cutting.
Lamination
Autostop offers a wide range of lamination options on different types of materials, such as: leather, artificial leather (PVC, PU), fabrics (Woven Fabric), knitted fabrics, foams, membranes and films. These materials can be laminated through with powder glue, wet glue lamination and flame lamination. The key characteristics of a good lamination are: delamination force, lamination resistance to temperature, etc.
Bio and Renewable
The company’s Materials Research and Development laboratories are looking into the future. Biobased and Renewable Carbon materials are being designed by state-of-the-art technologies and expertise: biobased artificial leather, renewable carbon based materials, recycled feedstock artificial leather.
